Chanelle Dupre joined The Vancouver Sun and The Province newspaper as promotions manager in mid 2006. Within the first few months of joining the newspaper, Chanelle lead a promotional project that won 1st place at the 2007 INMA (International Newspaper Marketing awards), 1st place in the 2007 Canadian Newspaper Association competition and honourable mention in the 2007 CNA Great Ideas competition. In her second year, Chanelle has again proven to be at the top of the class with yet another nomination at the 2008 INMA program for her digital domain program which launched two new promotional microsites and a regular monthly e-newsletter for both The Province and The Vancouver Sun newspaper.
With over 4 years of e-commerce and online marketing experience as a national promotions manager for Best Buy and Future Shop Canadian headquarters, Chanelle was in an ideal position to contribute to Pacific Newspaper group’s evolution to the digital domain and is honoured to have been chosen as one of the top 20 Canadian women in media for this year’s Digital Media Career Accelerator scholarship program.
Chanelle received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UBC majoring in International Relations and Economics, a designation from the Certified Institute of Management, a diploma from Columbia College of Radio, Television and Recording Arts and graduated with honours in the Marketing Communications Management program from British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Aside from her professional aspirations, Chanelle is a mentor for aspiring women at the YWCA Connect to Success program and a member of numerous professional associations. She is also a published author with columns in various parenting and online magazines across the country.
She is looking forward to a bright career and future in media and is grateful for the support provided by Corus Entetainment and Canadian Women in Communications in supporting women in media. Thank you!
